Escape Mail is now being shipped to over 30 countries around the world, delivering a challenging and fun escape room style puzzle game right to people’s doors

Mobile Escape, an education-based mobile escape room company founded in Calgary, was forced to pivot their business when the Covid 19 pandemic started. Several months into the pandemic and with a new business focus, the company has already negotiated multiple international expansion agreements and has a growing global customer base for their new product.

Escape Mail is an escape room style puzzle game that gets delivered to people through the mail and can be played at home or anywhere where people are together. The game is now available in Dutch and German with local distribution through Escape Mail licensees, and new distribution agreements are actively being negotiated in other countries. The company just completed a record-breaking weekend, selling Escape Mail games to customers in 30 countries around the world during its Black Friday sales event.

“We’ve always believed in the mobile delivery of an escape room, and we loved the concept of getting them into an envelope,” said Mobile Escape Co-founder, Eric Reynolds. “Escape Mail is an affordable way for people to have an escape room style experience at home so we thought it might work, but we never expected this kind of global acceptance.”

Mobile Escape’s pivot to Escape Mail has changed the trajectory of the company and has opened up a new long-term opportunity for the Calgary-based business. The once geography-limited mobile escape room company is now an e-commerce company with expanding global reach.

Escape Mail currently has one 12-episode season available. Players can order a single episode, monthly subscriptions, or buy the entire binge-worthy season for a discounted price. The company is currently working on episodes 9-12 in season one with plans to release new games regularly. In addition, Escape Mail plans to expand to the business-to-business space, giving companies looking for virtual team building activities a great solution.

About Mobile Escape

Mobile Escape launched in 2016, the brain-child of brothers-in-law Paul Harvey and Eric Reynolds. The company quickly experienced traction in Calgary and expanded to Edmonton including 2 Mobile Units with 4 Escape Rooms as well as several Tabletop Escape Games. During it's time in schools, the company served tens of thousands of students from K-12. When COVID hit it sidelined their education-focused business. Their new product Escape Mail brings the fun of an escape room and intrigue of a mystery novel delivered to your door. The Escape Mail concept brings together a variety of game types, including escape room games, role player games, puzzles and parlour games all tied together with a gripping storyline full of twists, turns and surprises.
