Our Lady of the Rosary - School-wide Residency

Our Lady of the Rosary is a very special place... from the principal, vice principal, teachers, through every staff member, right through to the custodial staff and volunteers... truly top notch culture. It's no wonder their students created 3 brilliant escape rooms this week!

The grade 1 classes built the Wonderful Weather of Oz escape room blending what they were learning in class with a timeless tale of Dorothy and her friends.

The grade 2 and 3 classes built an escape room based on various ecosystems, where participants were challenged to return animals back to their original ecosystem.

And the grade 4, 5 and 6 classes built a spaceship escape room called Black Hole Catastrophe. It was a blingy, shimmering spectacle!

I (Eric) will always remember this residency as special for two reasons:

  1. When we started running school-wide residencies, I had a vision of an entire school being (metaphorically) set on fire. Passionate. Engaged. Every single student in the building enthralled about learning. This is the first time I’ve seen that vision come to pass.

  2. It’s one of the few times every year where we get to work with an entire school, but in this case, we truly had the entire school’s buy-in! Every single teacher and student, thanks in large part to some incredible culture set by admin (that’s you Mark and Marni!)

We’ll miss you OLR! See you around :)
