WELCOME TO THE
DECODED HINTS PAGE
part 1: envelope + polaroid
-
These envelope flaps look like a safe! And they have some annotations on the back, I wonder what happens if I clasp them together.
-
The song at the bottom of the intro letter has “Bonnie” in it, and so does one of the flaps. Is that important?
-
The song describes Bonnie being over a few things that start with capital letters, these capital letters also appear on the back of one of the flaps. Try spinning one flap over the other, place Bonnie over each capital letter and collect the letters from “equally”.
-
If you notice the two rounded flaps of the envelope have perforations on them. Rip these off and connect them so that you can spin one flap over the other and the annotations “Bonnie” and “equally” are pointing at letters. Now if you look at the song on the bottom of the intro letter has some upper case letters, like O, S, C, and M. When you aim your bonnie at “O” from “Ocean” you will get the letters “RU” from equally. Then putting Bonnie over “S” from “Sea” will give you “BP”. if you keep going you will get the letters”RUBPHOTO”. When split, it spells, RUB - PHOTO. Rub photo!
if you rub the polaroid photo or heat it in any other way it should reveal a picture and a word, “Science” or “Ernest”, depending on which version you got. Input that into the portal and you should receive a picture back.
PART 2 : Transparencies + HR document
-
The portal showed me a picture of three intricate-looking triangles, I’ve seen these somewhere, maybe they belong together?
-
The transparencies and the back of the HR doc have one of these triangles each, and I’m able to put the triangles on top of each other so they match, looks like something formed right next to these.
-
Looks like a big “Opposite” has formed as well as “OCT”, “DEC” and some stars and a moon. You might need to the opposites of these, form two 3 letter words and combine them. The answer sounds like an emergency call in the sea.
-
The polaroid showed you a picture of 3 triangles, their order and their alignment. You can find 2 of these triangles on the transparency sheets and 1 on the back of the HR document.
When you align these 3 triangles you might notice that near it a word is formed that says, “OPPOSITE”. Under it, there are the letters “OCT” for October and “DEC” for December. The month between these two is November, and its opposite in the calendar year is May, that’s your first word.
To the right, you might notice a moon and stars, representing night. The opposite of night is “Day” and that’s your second word. when you combine them you get “Mayday” which is your solution to this puzzle.
part 3: HR Document + Red lens + envelope
-
Alex says in the video that I need to fold some corners to underlying words. I see the HR document has some words on the back and some underlined words on the front. I wonder if that’s what she meant.
-
Ok, so when I folded the corners in I was able to build two new sentences that sound like directions for something. Maybe the red lens and these jets have anything to do with it.
-
When looking through the red lens at the jets on the inside of the envelope I’m starting to see some numbers and shapes. This is what the two sentences refer to! Let’s follow the instructions we got from the two sentences and collect some numbers.
-
The HR document has 4 underlined words. If you take each corner of the page and fold it over the closest underlined word to form a 90-degree fold you will start noticing that the words on the back of the HR document connect to the sentences on the front.
After you fold all the corners correctly you will end up with two sentences:
“Star at — star. Just… follow the —path”
“Ignore— everything between the “X” —and square”
Now grab the red lens and the envelope and look through the lens at the picture with the jets. you will notice a star and a path going through shapes and numbers. If you follow the instructions from above you can collect the following numbers: 9 - 2 - 7 - ignore numbers - 2 - 4 -3. Your answer is 927243. Enter it into the portal and proceed.
part 4: Numbers on the icons + Augmented reality
-
Alex doesn’t seem to like Tokamak industries and has graffitied over some of their logos. I wonder if these are important.
-
I see three graffitied-over logos, which give me 3 numbers, now I have these as well as the AR application on my phone from the
-
Alex was quick to get rid of her name badge, try using that as the target for the AR application.
Huh, that’s a weird contraption, looks like there are some coloured numbers and operators on it too. Maybe these go with the coloured numbers we got before.
-
At this point of the game, you’ve received the link to the web AR application from the portal. Aim it at the back of the name badge and you should see a device form on top of it in AR. Turn your phone or the badge around until you see 3 coloured numbers and operators. Orange +3, Blue x2, and purple -1.
You might have noticed a few of the assets have logos graffitied over with a coloured marker. Grab these numbers and do the operation from above on them:
(2) +3 = 5
(4) x2 = 8
(6) -1 = 5
Your answer is 585.
Well done! You’ve finished the game.
